We, the residents of the Brixworth Community in Thompson's Staton, TN, petition Ghertner & Company to remove the phrase "Portable basketball goals must be stored out of sight when not in use" from Section 17 of the Brixworth Governing Documents (page 13/35). We, the residents of the Brixworth Community, who live daily in the neighborhood, do not find the presence of "portable basketball goals" to be detrimental to the community. If a vote needs to take place in person per Article XII, Amendments, Section 1, we petition this Amendment to be included in such vote.

Updates

January 30, 2016

I am currently gathering the formal request to present at the next board meeting regarding these ridiculous rules about driveway storage. Send an email to the property manager today demanding they place this amendment on the agenda. If you see your neighbors out, make sure to talk to them about why we need this change immediately.

January 30, 2016

The energy behind this push to amend Section 17 is growing fast. We have enough momentum now to force a real conversation with management so post this link to your neighborhood Facebook group today. Email your local association representative to demand they add our amendment to the next meeting agenda.

As long as the basketball hoops are in good condition they should be allowed for kids to play. We need kids to be able to enjoy being outdoors.

As long as basketball goals are not in the street or sidewalks I have no problem with them. Our subdivision are full with kids

Kids need to be outdoors, burning off energy and making memories. Potential buyers need to see that this is a family-oriented, friendly neighborhood. It's a win win.

The more reasons kids have to be outside and get physical and social activity the better. I do not find portable basketball goals to be a problem in our community.

I have no problems with them. I agree with all the other statements. This rule seems very unnecessary!

I have no problem with basketball hoops in the community, as long as they are not in bad shape.
