I was just out in the yard thinking about how much easier breakfast would be with backyard eggs and it really makes me wonder why things are so complicated with these local ordinances. Some of you have been messaging me with your own coop plans and honestly the dream of having a few hens back here is just getting stronger every single day.

I honestly never thought this would gain so much traction but my phone has been buzzing non-stop and it feels pretty wild to see so many people actually wanting backyard chickens in Vernon. Maybe I should have started this sooner because it is clear that everyone is tired of those store-bought eggs and ready for a change.

I can understand towns banning roosters in close quarters so as not to disturb neighbors but hens should definitely be allowed.
My kids would love to learn how to keep hens. It is better than them being on their tablets all day and we need fresh eggs anyway.
I would like to do this myself. Have experience

I may be moving to Vernon and I would want to own chickens. Every town should allow chickens. I understand roosters are annoying. And I understand minimum yard sizes (within reason).
