We, the Romany communities in both the UK and America demand that Harvard University VERIFY their so called Romany Researchers before asking them to research our community and publish their findings. The Romany community find no reason to believe that Amanda Schreiber is of Romany origin.
We the undersigned all stand in unison on this matter and take grave offence at Harvard University not contacting actual verified Romanichals.

Harvard has ignored our requests for transparency regarding their research staff. We need to turn up the pressure by emailing the department head directly and demanding they address our concerns about these claims of origin.

The momentum behind this petition is proving that we refuse to let Harvard ignore our community any longer. Send an email to the university department listed on our page to demand they verify these claims immediately.

I feel as if information as been taken from me as known good intent but then now is not . A group under this person as all info on our families . They should not be able to profit off our people in any way shape or form . I'm signing this in good faith that my voice will be add to others so we can put a stop to this unjust situation .
Snowball methodology leaves a lot to be desired. I don’t know who these “Romani leaders” are who will be furthered queried. We need more answers before this “report” speaks for our Romnichal people.
The Romany ancestry of this woman should be verified before allowing her to do research. Most researchers make us out to be criminals or worse.
As a romanychal, I’m tired of non gypsies representing us. We can represent our own bloodline. We don’t want outsiders speaking on our behalf when we don’t get to speak on our own behalf.
We have proven on our own that she is not of our people. We have DNA proving our people.
I am removing my endorsement from this petition. I have it on good authority that Amanda Schreiber is of Romany origin. And that she is engaged with other known authentic Romnichells in an effort with Harvard University to complete the following objectives: Gain minority ethnic group status, stop racial profiling, get minority business advantages. I would not want this petition to jeopardize any cooperation that Harvard is giving to this group of researchers in this noble endeavor. Also, the intent of this petition is in question due to the fact that Becky Lee applied for this position and was rejected.

Soooo many white people pretending to be Gypsy, running orgs in our name banking off us, pushing ignorant ideas to do with us. It has o stop. If you like travelling or feel you are a free spirit, that doesn't make you Gypsy. If you just want to feel more exotic and fancy, that doesn't make you Gypsy. Stop stealing our identity. Stop robbing the voice from real Gypsies. Verify your members are really Gypsy. If they are not, they have no business on any Gypsy panel. A white person, or a black one, for that matter, should have no voice in what is right for us and our community, that is for our voices, and ours alone. Remove any non-Gypsy member, not just Schreiber. What a disgrace. I am a Lee, and proud. I can speak for myself.
