We as athletes, parents, and other memebers involved with Virginia Beach City Public School High School Soccer are against the mouthguard propsal. No where in FIFA Laws of the Game does it require soccer players to wear a mouthguard. We feel that this rule would be unfair and unnecessary, as well as put us at a disadvantage to other schools outside of the Beach District. We already abide by a shinguard requirement, not required by FIFA. We are asking the superintendent to deny this proposal of the mandatory mouthgaurds for high school soccer games. If it is not in the required equipment listed in the Laws of the Game, we should not have to follow it. The following people have signed in favor of this petition, going against the new rule.
