A 17 year old from Port Huron Northern High School had a first hand encounter with facial accidents due to lack of mouthguard. He is quoted in an article saying "I was running to the ball, and I got caught with an elbow to my face," this resulted in him needing 4 reconstructive surgeries and drinking liquid food for 4 months.

THATS HORRIBLE. 4 surgeries?? no kid should have to go thru that over a sport. mouth guards are cheap compared to medical bills.

My son lost two front teeth in middle school soccer. It cost us thousands and he had to deal with the pain for years. Just make it mandatory already.
