In regards to the casting of UW Oshkosh Theatre productions, we urge that auditioning students be given roles before alumni, faculty, or community members.
Except for instances where students are unable to fulfill the requirements of a role (e.g. a character is elderly, a character has to perform acrobatics), all roles should be filled by students enrolled at UWO. If all the students who auditioned are given roles and there are still roles available, then positions may be filled by alumni, faculty, or other individuals outside of the student body.
In this way, all tuition-paying students are given the opportunity to gain experience and education before giving these opportunities to non-paying members of the community.
