Business Owners, The NJ Sweeney Bill 4204 will dramatically change how subcontractors are paid in NJ. This bill basically ends 1099s and make many subcontractors W2 employees! Sign below to show your support AGAINST this Bill. This is extremely urgent and requires your action!
The feedback I am hearing from fellow business owners reflects a deep concern about the stability of our operations under this new legislation. I am currently reaching out to industry representatives to ensure our collective apprehensions are clearly articulated to those drafting these rules.

I am very alarmed by the Bill S4204. This bill will drastically adversely impact my small business and my ability to support my family with the flexibility that I need as a working mother.

This will increase costs for small businesses. Many businesses are correctly issuing 1099's for contractors under the current law. Why have them issue W-2's to companies that have a different business and their own employees and worker's comp? The liability would transfer to the business owner.

This bill would hurt small business in NJ. In addition to requiring extra costs it would add burdensome reporting & tracking requirements that do not make sense. Please restore sanity and stop this bill as now written.

For the few employers who have always done it wrong..this is good. But, for the real small employers and individuals who are SELF-Employed and pay their taxes, pay their insurance, pay employees who work for them, have pension plans and enrich the NJ economy this bill is misguided. PROTECT THE SMALL BUSINESS IN NJ. vote NO. to 4024.

I'm a small business owner using subcontractors for a majority of my building construction & renovation work. I'm totally against this bill. It would severely damage my business
