Lots less than 3 acres were approved by the City of Milton on Wood Rd recently. Land use policies do not allow a home to be built on less than 3 acres on gravel roads; however, one of these lots fronts onto a strip of asphalt that was put down for safety and dust abatement near Birmingham Hwy. This pavement was never intended to be recognized as a paved road and does not meet Georgia DOT standards and has never been considered a "paved road" rather than a part of the gravel road. We the residents of Wood Rd demand correction of this error made by the City of Milton and a reversal immediately of the status of Wood Rd as a gravel road in its entirety - from Birmingham Hwy to Phillips Circle.
Please DO NOT allow the 2 - 1 acre lots on Wood Road and Birmingham Highway. The "paved" road is barely passable with 2 compact cars let alone horse trailers etc., I blew 2 tires as a pickup truck ran me off the road--there's just NOT enough room. It's not a legitimate paved road, its paved for the safety for the residents. Please, we are pleading with you to listen to the residents, we love this road and the history means the world to the residents and we hate to see it turn into another cookie cutter neighborhood.
