The baseball fields in Kingston have been so poorly maintained for so long that they no longer meet the standard that seems to be reached in other municipalities like Cobourg, Oshawa, Napanee and pretty much everywhere else. It's time to let our city leaders know that our KIDS DESERVE BETTER!!!

I spent the afternoon watching my son play on these crumbling fields and the uneven dirt is a genuine safety risk for every kid out there. I am currently reaching out to local council members to demand they walk the grounds with me so they can see the neglect firsthand.

My son came home with another twisted ankle because of those rutted out diamonds. We are about to hit one hundred signatures so please send this link to your neighbors right now to show the city how many families are tired of these broken fields.

I grew up playing ball on these fields, and they were in need of repair then, so they DESPERATELY need it now!! Our youth deserve to know that the city they represent is concerned enough for their safety to make a change. Now is your chance, Kingston!

I am the coach of Queen's Fastpitch, and we are the host of the OIWFA championships this year. We have opted to host out of Napanee, as the diamond conditions are not acceptable in Kingston to host a major tournament. We also don't get help with diamond conditions or setup. I 110% support this cause!

Finally! There's a reason why I don't play in Kingston baseball/softball leagues and this is one of the major concerns along with cost. It is interesting to see that fields outside the city such as Odessa, Bath, Wilton or Inverary are better taken care of than Kingston ones.

These diamonds are a safety hazard to the youth that play on them. The pitcher's hump (it isn't a mound) isn't regulation or safe to throw off of. Our kids deserve better for the amount they pay to play.

Earlier this month my sons bantam rep team had a tournament. There was a big rainstorm the night before. The parents and coaches were at the field at 6 am raking, draining, etc. so an 815am game with an Ottawa team would happen.

Among other things our diamonds need proper irrigation. I get cancelling a game if it's pouring rain with lightening, but to have to cancel when it's sunny out because it rained earlier in the day is insane.

Long over due Kingston is way behind most cities and has ignored this for way too long
