After a 20-year span of success and championships, the REDS baseball team has not been awarded their home field for their last weekend in Fredericton. Please read our open letter to the city of Fredericton from our senior players and consider signing on behalf of a program that deserves proper recognition and subsequent accommodations.
I have spent this week meeting with local officials to explain why this field means everything to our graduating players who grew up on that diamond. The silence from the parks department is frustrating but I am still pushing for a proper explanation regarding their decision.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like the validation our players have earned after decades of grit on that field. It confirms that the city cannot just overlook a program that defined so much of our local sports history.

It is absolutely crazy that a top University Team is in such a position. Understanding that Royals Senior team takes first priority for field time but not allowing the field to bs used by UNB Baseball does not sit well and discredits this very solid team of young players, many of whom are local players.

As a current Senior Royals player and former UNB player I beleive the UNB baseball team should be allowed to use Royals field if no other teams are playing on it! Why have an A1 facility and not allow teams to utilize it is beyond me…

This field has been used by UNB for some time. The field is still being actively prepared for the Senior Mens Royals team who is in playoff finals. The schedules do no conflict thus there should be no reason to not take care of this.

I support this petition, UNB brings first class competition to Frederiction and deserve a fitting ball field to play at.

If the city of Fredericton is going to force teams to use Thomson field than they should fix it up. the pitcher's mound is terrible, and needs built up. there are planks missing on some of the bleachers. There are teams coming from other provinces to play ball and you're pushing them to the worst field this is really sad.........

I've been going to UNB games here for years. They play early in the day and are very respectful.

UNB and UNB baseball is a part of Fredericton and this decision should be a given. Do the right thing and do it
