I have submitted a formal request for a traffic study to the county engineering department. This data will provide the necessary evidence to advocate for a lower speed limit near the high school.

The volume of support for these infrastructure changes has reached a level that requires a formal response from local officials. I am currently finalizing a briefing document to present at the next department of transportation meeting.

The road is highly used by joggers and bikers. A sidewalk and lower speed limit will greatly enhance the safety.
The curve near the high school is yet another reason to slow and calm the traffic. The safety of our high school students is just as important as it is for our younger students.
I have children who would love a safe place to walk, and I often run this road but never feel safe. Please make these changes!
This is a very dangerous road with a higher speed limit than it should have. It is traveled by many young inexperienced teenage drivers as it is the primary road traveled to get to the high school. I know for a fact there have been several wrecks at the curve by the highschool. Not sure why we are needing to sign a petition - this decision should be DONE!!
Please take a moment to electronically sign this petition, which we will present to Melvin Davis as a follow-up to a letter we sent to him in the fall regarding our concerns about the safety of those using Union Church Road. These changes to the main road by our neighborhood would benefit all of us who live here.
I saw people walking on the street. I think we need a safe sidewalk and the speed needs to reduce as well. Thanks
Union Church Road needs to be safer! A lower speed limit, combined with sidewalks and bike lanes, would help make this community safer.

Sidewalks would not only make this orad much safer for joggers but some type of bike path or bike lane is needed to make the road safer for those biking and driving.
