Currently, there is a group of people, under the collective name of "OccupyUMassBoston" residing in the Campus Center. By signing this petition, we agree that they deserve the right to protest whatever, and however they chose as long as it is peaceful, and is not disruptive to the academic environment of the school. We ask that they remove themselves from the area where they currently reside; in front of the 1st floor elevators. We ask this because they have become a detriment to the environment of UMass Boston- one of academic excellence, creativity, and most importantly, respect. By continuing their occupation in this way, and in this location, they have become an unwelcome group because of their lack of respect towards those who wish to study or socialize in this area. We call for the immediate removal of all tents, unapproved posters, and other memorabilia connected to the group. We ask that they do this peacefully and without complaint. By signing this petition, you agree that the group's current behavior does not reflect the wishes of the Students of UMass Boston.
