University of Johannesburg let us demand the withdrawal of all private security (BOUNCERS) from University campuses as the University management is complacent and comfortable with bouncers. It is clear that the unidentifiable University Bouncers have tarnished the image of the University through their vicious acts towards students, staff and the public on a daily basis. The University is wasting millions monthly on Bouncers while there are other priority areas where the funds could be of better assistance to the student community. Only private security companies are benefiting from Bouncers being on campuses and this is a reversal of the insourcing of securities.

The continued presence of Bouncers on campuses will lead to an undesirable situation and we invite the student community and staff to join the call for the immediate removal of all bouncers from the University by signing the petition #BouncersMustGo
