Protect the University College Student Voice @ ASU

***IF YOU'RE A UNIVERSITY COLLEGE STUDENT AT ASU OR YOU ADVOCATE FAIR AND EQUAL REPRESENTATION PLEASE READ FURTHER AND SIGN!*** University College (UC) is allotted 3 seats in the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) at ASU each academic year. Student senators represent YOUR voice and opinion in how our money is spent and our campus is run. In the past, UC has had several, if not all, seats vacant. WHICH MEANS YOUR VOICE IS NOT HEARD! These seats have remained vacant due to a clause in the USG Bylaws that reads: "If a voting member of the USG Senate changes respective College affiliation, they immediately relinquish their USG Senate seat." This bylaw line discriminates against UC from maintaining consistent representation in USG. UC requires students to declare a major after 45 credit hours, leading to a change in major, and another vacancy. The bylaws contradict the mission of UC, and something must be changed! There is currently a bill* on the table that allows a conditional exception for UC which protects consistent representation. Your signature will show the USG Senate that we will not settle for unfair treatment! PLEASE SIGN IN SUPPORT OF THIS EFFORT SO YOUR VOICE IS HEARD, AND YOUR MONEY IS PROTECTED! *contact me by email if you'd like to see a copy of the bill
