To the English Department Board of Studies,

We, the undersigned, students of the UCL English Department, support the students who are currently peacefully occupying the Jeremy Bentham Room, and their right to protest.

We believe that the defense of Arts and Humanities degrees against cuts is essential, and therefore support resistance to such measures.

Updates

December 9, 2010

The volume of support has now reached a level that necessitates a formal response from the Department Board of Studies. I am currently drafting a letter to summarize these demands and will request an immediate meeting with the department leadership to present your collective position.

The JBR occupation is the only way anyone is actually going to listen. Good on you for taking a stand.

The cuts are ridiculous. Humanities are the heart of this uni and they keep slashing the budget like it doesnt matter.
