The transportation office has decided that graduate students are no longer permitted to park in Zone 3 south. They are moving us to Zone 3 Commuter Lot, Valentine Lot, River Lot and Brooks Landing. These changes have come unannounced and last-minute, placing an unnecessary burden on graduate students at the river campus. In order to legally park on campus, the transportation office wants graduate students to pay for a $300 permit valid August - May and a $100 permit valid June - August. Asking $400 for parking fee ($100 more than we currently pay) for more inconvenient parking without proper accommodations to ensure our safety and successful graduate career, is completely unreasonable. Please sign this petition to voice our concerns and tell the transportation office that these changes would greatly hinder our ability to be productive and successful graduate students at the university!

This is ridiculous. I have to be in the lab late at night sometimes and the river lot is way too far and not safe. Dont do this to us.

total greed. 400 bucks for parking when we are already paying tuition and barely scraping by. keep us in zone 3.
