My own kids are missing out on valuable learning time because of these rigid state mandates. We are nearly at our goal of 250 signatures and hitting that mark will prove to the board that our community demands local control now.

Seeing one hundred people put their names behind this really hits home because I know firsthand how much our families struggle with this rigid calendar. My own kids deserve a schedule that actually fits our community instead of some state mandate. Thank you for helping me get this off the ground.

My kids end up finishing finals after winter break and it makes the whole holiday stressful for no reason. Let the district decide what works best for our own family schedules.
Local control is common sense. Tired of one size fits all rules.
Ridiculous that Austin tells us how to run our schools. We know our town better than they do.
YES. Start earlier so we can finish before June when it is 100 degrees out. Makes so much more sense.
Give us back our calendar!! Too many wasted days at the end of the year.

Everything is better when we keep it local. The state needs to back off and let our board do their job.
