Gray Station Better Hometown and PLAN (People Looking Ahead Now) Cultural Arts & Leisure Committee are taking steps to develop a city park in Gray. The organizations would like to transform the old track and football field on Turnerwoods Road into a passive park for the entire community to enjoy. A conceptual drawing was prepared by the Department of Community Affairs to give citizens an opportunity to see the possibilities of the green space. The organizations are very excited about the opportunities that TURNERWOODS PARK will bring to the community! The Park will include: walking trails, recreation areas, a handicap-accessible playground, an area for pets to play, a pavilion area for cookouts, birthday parties, and other celebrations. The benefits of having a Parks and Recreation facility in our community are numerous: • A place for fun, exercise, entertainment, and socializing • Keeping kids off of the streets • Sense of community • Parks and open spaces create a high quality of life that attracts tax-paying businesses and residents to communities (corporate CEOs say that employee quality of life is the third most important factor in locating a new business.) IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS PARK A REALITY, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
