Southampton town residents are in jeopardy of losing Tuckahoe Road. Tuckahoe Road is one of Southampton's most scenic roads. The Shinnecock Golf Club wants to take over and close the road to the public. We would lose this beautiful vista. Bicyclists, walkers and joggers would also lose these magnificent views. We need to let our town officials know that we want to keep Tuckahoe Road public. I am signing this petition because I want Tuckahoe Road to remain public.

So many simple solutions—overpass, underpass, speed bumps, signage—to a "safety problem" that doesn't even exist. This is a public road and a treasured vista that belongs to everyone.
I am a resident for over 30 years and believe thethis road should be kept no only for traffic reasons but because of its beauty to the public that have paid to have it maintained for all these many years.
The people don’t want it. That was clear at the Southampton Town Board Work Session. There are obvious disadvantages in closing an escape route, environment damage and safety issues on the proposed reroute. Why are some elected officials still considering it? Enough already!
This road is key for residents that live in the vicinity. We travel on the road frequently. If this was to go through what would stop other local golf courses from doing the same??
This is a terrible idea that will make bad traffic worse. It is part of my daily commute to work already made challenging by the morning closure of Sebonac Road. It's time to open all public roads for all to use.
Our roads belong to us not special interests. Keep our public road public. We pay for it. We are entitled to use it!

The road was there before the golf course - the only real reason there is a movement to close the road. Please keep the road public - listen to your constituents and do not pander to the voices of the few - no matter how large their contributions to your political careers. Thank you.
