Trinity Donkey Soc. or Dublin University Equine Welfare society, need 200 names and student IDs before we can formally make a proposition to the CSC!
If approved we hope to provide our members with charitable and volunteering opportunities at various donkey sanctuaries around Ireland. Their plight is a growing issue, with high numbers being simply abandoned because their owners don't have the means to support them. Sanctuaries around the country are also finding it difficult to cope, and we hope to be in a position come Fresher's Week of 2014/15 to really help them out!
It's going to be a lot of fun, and we hope to throw in a charitable ball, or a bake sale or here and there. You and your friends will even have the chance to adopt a donkey! (The treasurer also promises to spend her Fresher's week around Front Sq. dressed as a donkey... Yes.) So please sign the petition if you haven't done so already!
Seeing this kind of movement is exhausting but it keeps me going when the hurdles seem endless. We are finally gaining the traction needed to prove that these animals deserve our attention.

Great idea for a society. Much better than some of the other stuff on campus.

Honestly need this society to happen. The treasurer in a donkey suit in front square is reason enough!
