The IMES PTA Board is recommending that the IMES PTA be dissolved and a Parent Teacher Organization ("PTO") be formed in its place.
We would dissolve the IMES PTA as of June 30, 2017 and the PTO would be effective immediately to avoid any interruption in the activities and programs for the 2017-2018 school year.
KES, JJMS and JJHS all have PTOs that have been operating successfully for years. There are many benefits to forming a PTO. The PTO can operate Before School Activities (BSA) and After School Activities (ASA) without the insurance restrictions of the PTA. The PTO can also continue to offer all of the activities and enrichment programs that the PTA has offered to the IMES students in the past.
In order to dissolve the IMES PTA, we need to show that IMES PTA members agree. If you are in favor of doing so, and if you are a current PTA member*, please sign the petition.
If you have any questions, please reach out to: Jamie D'Albenzio at [email protected] or Lara D'Agostino at [email protected]
*Note: PTA membership is by individual only; it's not a family membership. This petition MUST be signed by the actual PTA MEMBER.
Definitely time for this switch. Keeping the programs running is what matters most for the kids.
