Pedestrian and motorized/non-motorized vehicle traffic safety is of paramount concern to both residents and community members accessing the Saxony Road/Seacrest Way corridor. We urgently request safety measures to be installed immediately. Reports have been already completed and issues have been presented to the city traffic commission regarding traffic (1) flow, (2) density, and (3) velocity). Namely, we seek the following:

1) as a traffic calming mechanism on Seacrest Way, west of the Sea View Court/Essex Heights Apartment complex outlet, closing that gate from Essex Heights Apartments onto Seacrest Way while still allowing pedestrian access or alternative adding a stop sign at that gate and installing speed bumps (such as have recently been placed on Urania Avenue, north of Leucadia Blvd); both velocity and visibility of motorized vehicles leaving that apartment complex presently threaten other motorists and pedestrians using Seacrest Way

2) a traffic calming mechanism (e.g. stop light or roundabout) at the intersection of Saxony Road/Seacrest way that:

a) enables four way traffic to safely navigate that intersection

b) encourages lower motorized vehicle velocities that will positively impact safe pedestrian crossings anywhere along the southern section of Saxony Road

3) a "fortified" crosswalk/crossway (e.g. flashing lights, speed bump protected) on Saxony Road that enables pedestrians to cross Saxony Road safely to access the YMCA/baseball fields, bus stops and other residential/commercial buildings

We request (1) solutions to these safety issues and (2) timelines for implementation.
