Traffic lights or zebra crossing at Friday street road

We were so sorry that Andrea lost her brave fight for life , being our next door neighbour we have witnessed what the Family are going through . And if the Council listen to All the residents no other family will go through the same Sleep in Peace Little One

The risk of death is four times higher when a pedestrian is hit by a car at 40 mph than at 30 mph; http://think.direct.gov.uk/speed.html So, why, in a built up residential area with a school close by, is the speed limit not 30 mph ??? It makes no sense at all. This is one tragedy too many and my heart goes out to the family of this dear little girl. It is too sad and shocking. So, yes, a pedestrian crossing point is vital but a petition to reduce the speed limit to 30 mph along the entire length of Friday Street is vital and stop the chance of another tragedy like this happening again.

So sad for this family. My husband and I only moved here 2 years ago and have always been puzzled why Friday Street has a 40mph speed limit as it is so residential. Would say put a crossing and reduce speed limit to 30mph.

People tend to drive fast up this road and many deaths have been a result of this. I think putting either traffic lights or a zebra crossing down Friday street would decently prevent anymore deaths from occurring. My thoughts go out to all the families who have lost loved ones x

needs to go from a 40 to a 30 speed limit too, it's a built up area so should be 30 anyway.
