Top 5 Carolina
ARTISTS are you tired of not being able to get your music played on the radio?
LISTENERS are you tired of hearing the same 5 songs every time you turn your radio dial?
Well I know I am and I want to do something about it. My name is Winston Gilley and I'm a local music engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina. Every day I go to work and record talented local artist who have no opportunity outside of putting their music on Facebook to promote their work. Radio use to be the number one format for artist to reach the masses, but with so many radio stations being owned by the same corporations it is almost next to impossible to get your music played. If your not signed to a major record label or slipping the radio station major record label money for them to spin your records what other options do you have?
Before you go giving up on music, this petition if you choose to sign can solve both problems. Yes, we have got a solution to the problem and its called Top 5 Carolina, a radio show I am producing on 103.3 WGIV.
Before I explain how you can help, let me first explain the concept of Top 5 Carolina. Top 5 Carolina is a local radio show that will countdown the five(5) most requested songs, as requested by listeners. The countdown will begin with the fifth most requested song of the week and end with the most popular requested song. Artist of all genres from both North & South Carolina will be able to submit their records by emailing email@example.com. The best records will then be selected and posted on www.top5carolina.com for voting. The show will take place every Thursday on 103.3 WGIV from 7pm - 8pm starting September 6th, 2012. Also if, you don't get WGIV on your we will have a live stream on www.top5carolina.com so no matter where you are, you will be able to tune in to the best music in the Carolinas. This will be a multi-genre radio segment where all music is welcome, Hip-hop, R&B, Reggae, Rock, Dub Step, etc.....if the people say it's hot we will play it.
So here is how you can help. All you got to do is sign this petition and send it out to as many people as possible. Strength is in numbers and even if you just send it to one person you've helped and I thank you for that. The more people we get to sign the closer we get to our goal of bringing community and music back to radio. I appreciate you for taking the time to read this. Also, I will be setting up a donation page at www.indiegogo.com/top5carolina, so if you would like to assist in funding the radio show that would also be appreciated, no matter what the amount it helps.
