UCT Radio has been the Soundtrack to your Campus Life for over 40 years. It has been a breeding ground for talent such as as Randall Abrahams, Dan Corder, Kyeezi, DJ PH, Carissa Cupido, Mark Fitzgibbon, Sammy Sosa, Suga, Mark Gillman and many more. The station is continually growing and has amassed 4 national Liberty Radio Awards in the past 5 years despite being the only campus station in the country with only 1 full-time staff member.

We are currently in danger of losing our broadcasting licence and with it, could go a large portion of UCT's voice. Over the years we have attempted to be a voice for the UCT community in the greatest and the worst of times, representing student views as best as possible. Now we are asking you to use your voice to help us continue.

By signing this petition, you are stating that you are a member of the UCT community and/or its surrounding areas and you support the station and wish to see it continue. It only takes a moment to add your name to this list. This minute of your day could impact the future of 20 000 others'.

Not only is the Station a voice for the community but it's a voice for the voiceless. The only place in campus where one can feel welcome and not just tolerated but also embraced

UCT Radio is not only responsible for my career but also for my integration into my professional and social community. My time at the station and as an audience member has brought me closer to my immediate and extended society! I can't put a value on the impact that this radio station has had on my life!

UCT Radio was the proving ground and the kickstart to my career. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have achieved what I did. There is a large community that relies on the radio station so let it keep broadcasting.

UCT Radio’s direct and indirect contribution to the growth of broadcasting in South Africa and beyond is immense. It just can’t be put into words. This institution has been the breeding ground of some of the finest, most iconic and impactful broadcasters the world has ever seen.

I got more of an education at UCTRadio then I did at UCT. It would be a shame if future students could not have the opportunity to learn and grow under UCT Radio guidance in the years to come.

UCT Radio helped me find my voice. Through the content discussed on various shows and just engaging with the on air teams whenever I can, I've been exposed to different perspectives that have allowed me to grow as a person
