I support Toby’s Public House, 86 Kenmare Street, for both their On-Premise full liquor license AND for their Beer and Wine License. Toby’s is a welcomed addition to Nolita/Little Italy as a neighborhood local spot for a mature customer base serving their ever-popular brick oven pizzas and southern Italian classics that was awarded a 25 (out of 30) for food and 21 (out of 30) for service from Zagat’s 2011 at their South Park Slope, Brooklyn location. Toby’s is not only a welcoming establishment but a positive addition that serves the public interest on many levels, i.e., hiring local and nearby residents, sales tax and other business taxes, supporting various community affairs and non-profits (Toby’s Project – free veterinarian spaying/neutering www.tobysproject.com ), food and clothing donations to the Bowery Mission and providing raffle gift certificates from Toby’s for fundraisings at local schools and organizations. Christine Iu, proprietor of Toby’s Public House, is grassroots and runs a mom and pop shop that is sympathetic to the Little Italy and Chinatown neighborhoods by its work ethics, architecture and care for her community. Christine is a responsible, courteous and a considerate restaurant operator that has been proven by her past restaurants, KitchenBar (OP; Park Slope, Brooklyn) and Toby’s Public House (OP; Park Slope, Brooklyn) that reside in a densely populated residential neighborhood. Christine Iu, is an American citizen of Chinese and Italian descent, has been a long-term resident of Nolita and now raises her two young children in Little Italy one block away from her new establishment.

Thank you.

The feedback from local business owners and residents has been consistent. Email your City Council representative today and tell them why this neighborhood needs Toby's Public House to stay open. We need you to stay focused on this goal until we get the permits approved.

We hit a tipping point today that proves this neighborhood wants Toby's Public House on Kenmare Street. Now we need to turn this momentum into action by emailing your local representative to demand they approve this license. Post this link on your Facebook page and text three neighbors so they can sign today.

They do so much for the community with the vet project. Why make it harder for a good business to operate? Nonsense.

Christine runs a professional place. Never had a single issue there. Let them serve their wine, it makes the dinner way better.

Great pizza and a good crowd. We need more spots like this in the neighborhood instead of more tourist traps.
