Fox Valley Tranisition is unquie in itself, it is the only all women center in the state of Illinois. The majoroty of these women have a desire and willingness to change their lives for the better. The opportunites and benefits they recieve, out way what they could have learned or achieved if they did not have this place to come to. I have been a volunteer for seven plus years and I have seen first hand these women lives change right before my eyes from the time they get there to the time they are released. Some of them have become valuable members of society, these women are not just sitting around while the state and taxpayer take care of them.They also have jobs that they go to everyday and pay taxes ,they also pay for their living expense while at the center. If they were sent back to prison guess who would be paying for them to be there. Yes you are correct you would be paying to keep them in prision. I hear so many people talk about prision reform but I truly believe that places like this only bring true reformation. Why I say this is because they not only give them opportunites to work they offer opporunites for mentoring to bring them to a recongnition of their own value, lifting their self esteem and hope for their future. The staff here really care about the ladies that are there even though they are still considered inmates they are able to talk with volunters and to the staff councelors for guidance which in prison would not be possible. Most important even after the ladies are released they keep in contact with the volunteers. If you agree please sign my petition
