We are petitioning that the NYS Department of Health, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, amend their ruling on nursing home visits, requiring the facility to be covid-free (both residents and staff) for 28 days before allowing visitation.

It is extremely challenging to reach the 28 day guideline, and then to continue to maintain it.

We have not seen our loved ones at the nursing homes since March, other than a few, short window visits.

Let us safely visit them outside during the warmer months. And when the weather gets colder, implement a new plan to continue to allow us to see the residents, while wearing masks and practicing social distancing.
