The stories coming into my inbox are heavy and remind me why we started this fight in the first place. I spend my nights sorting through these accounts of isolation because the people in charge refuse to acknowledge the human cost of their rules. It is exhausting work, but the resolve to fix this system keeps me moving forward.

Seeing this momentum grow is heavy because it reminds me of how many families are still suffering in silence. I am exhausted by this fight but knowing I am not alone gives me the resolve to keep going.

My father is on hospice care and due to covid-19 regulations I have to ask permission and be approved for even a window visit. He is at the end of his life and other people are keeping him from his children. This is not right. It is time for covid restrictions to be lifted before more elders die alone.
My mother died alone in the Mercy system as we weren't allowed to see her. Same day she died they let us into the ICU right to her body. How foes that protect anyone?
I have lost three family members to covid. My family will forever remember my grandmothers last words being that we left her there alone to die.
I spent 5 weeks in the hospital with no interaction with my family and friends. Thankfully I survived after covid and 2 strokes.
My mom and dad both had the virus and in the hospital. My dad came home so weak I couldn't believe he was sent home at all. My mom didn't make it out. A nurse let my mom use her phone. My mom told me, "You brought me here and just left me.". I was sitting in the parking lot. I did every day she was there trying everything I could to see her and my dad. My frail 83 year old mother died alone believing no one cared and left her. They let us see her after she died and we got her things. We only wore cloth masks and the chaplain of the hospital met us in the Covid unit with only a cloth mask on. This is cruel and inhumane treatment of our loved ones. Please sign this petition. No one should die believing their family has forgotten them!

My Dad was in hospital for 6 months, only 4 times was his wife allowed to visit, and we were not allowed at all. He died (natural causes) and the agony from not being able to see him or say goodbye is horrendous.
