Not allowing residents to see their families results in depression. Also, at the moment, false positives from the antigen test are lumped in with actual positives and treated the same. There need to be real changes in the current mandates to reflect these issues. Also, the problems in NYC are not happening in northern New York, so the rules need to be adapted to the situation.

Please open up visits at NYS nursing homes. My grandma has stage 4 cancer and has less than 3 months to live and all I want to do is hold her and tell her I love her without a window between us!

My Mother is in a facility .We had to tell her that my brother (her son) passed away 8/19 and we had to stand 6 feet from her without even being able to hug her. She has taken limited food since this past Thursday. Prior to COVID I seen her daily and would bring foods from home. This is cruel. The Gov is allowing these elders to pass away from failure to thrive. We HAVE to be able to hug our loved ones and make sure they are eating.

My 55 year old sister-in-law has a traumatic brain injury from an accident 2 years ago. She cannot even ask for a cup of water, she has not had a hug been touched in over 6 months!! Enough is ENOUGH!!! The State of NY needs to open its doors, allow at least one family member inside. These people are dying of broken hearts, they are not living they are existing! We are all so frustrated they are like prisoners! Why is it that my sister-in-law can work in a hospital with ICU patients and these patients can have one visitor but nursing homes cannot? Our family cannot go into a nursing home but can take care of critically ill patients! It’s absolutely a double standard and the NY Health Dept. knows it!!

This is INHUMANE. WE MUST be allowed to see our loved ones. No one wants to get sick. No one wants to be careless. But the far reaching horrors of our loved ones possibly dying alone will take an unbearable toll on all involved. Let alone their not understanding why they ARE alone in many cases. This is beyond horrific!!
