There are over 6890 lifers past tariff that are stuck in the UK prison system

Costing you the tax payers a massive £31,989.00 - £94,740.00 per prisoner,

So if you haven't done your sums yet it is a massive £220,404,210.00 –
£643,034,200.00 per year. Blocking 6890 beds, cells, blocking up 7 – 8 whole Prisons,
taking up 1,600 – 2000 prison officers, plus
health care staff, education staff,
Heating, food, wages, prison clothes, prison bedding, the list goes on.
If you agree with the following statements, please support us.
It is unfair that lifers with tariffs do not get out on tariff.
The government should abolish all minimum term tariffs.
The government should sign up fully to the criminal & justice act of the EU.

To enable prisoners who have served and over served their tariffs, to be able to be back with their families and help support their selves and give back to the community.

It is unfair when a prisoner is imprisoned for 20 years minimum and serves 7 years and 7 months without a chance of getting out. We are married and have a 7 year old daughter and my partner has been sentenced to 20 minimum 7 years ago when our daughter was only 8 weeks old. It is unfair as he regrets and has changed for the better and we need him at home at least for one day. It is not fair on me and my daughter not to be able to spend time in privacy without everyone staring at us and in the same room as us where there is zero privacy as everyone can see you and hear you. Very embarrassing.

It is appropriate that people should have something to hope for. Sentences are often too long, and take no account of the need for people to be given the chance to re-enter the community as good citizens.

Good luck with your petition all sentences should be a fixed term so they have something to look forward to.
