This petition's goal is instigate the creation and establishment of a Duke TIP-endorsed boarding school, where alumni of the Duke TIP Summer Studies program could attend in their high school years.

"One year is three weeks of TIP, and 49 weeks of waiting," quotes one TIPster. Now, imagine... what if those three weeks were turned into a school year?

For a total of six weeks over the summer, the nation's most talented and most educationally gifted students are brought together under the same building. While the students are there on their term, they are engaged in a class that has a welcoming, fun, and intelligent atmosphere, as well as living with their peers who share commoncharacteristicsand likes as one another. The result is magic - the "TIPster" is born, and some of the most wondrous weeks throughout out the entire year occur.

If a boarding school were founded based off the Duke TIP Summer Studies criteria for the program, the outcome would be stupendous. If the bright minds that the program recruits yearly were able to attend their four years of high school at a boarding school, one of the nation's top schools could be formed, and one that would have students motivated to succeed and do well in their education.
