We, the undersigned parents, students, community members, alumni, and supporters of the
music program, respectfully request that the school board approve an opportunity for
qualified 7th and 8th grade middle school band students to participate in selected high
school band activities.

This opportunity would allow eligible middle school students to:

• Participate in high school band practices
• Perform at football games
• Compete in marching band competitions and performances
• Gain mentorship and musical experience alongside high school musicians

Under this proposal, participating middle school students would not attend the annual high
school band trip and would continue to follow all academic and behavioral expectations
required by both schools.

Why This Opportunity Matters:

Allowing motivated 7th and 8th-grade students to participate in the high school band program provides a remarkable opportunity for growth, leadership, and musical
development. Early exposure to a higher-level performance environment helps students:
