Seeing one hundred people recognize how vital this service is for my local community has been overwhelming. I started this because I know exactly how hard these firefighters work to keep us safe and I am truly grateful for your help.

Ridiculous. These guys are lifesavers and they should be allowed to keep doing their jobs exactly how they have been for years. leave them alone.
my brother is a retained firefighter and he does way more than 48 hours for the community. this directive makes zero sense for the way they work.
How are these crews supposed to function if you limit their hours like that?? it would leave massive gaps in coverage for rural areas. absolute joke.
Common sense dictates you dont fix what isnt broken. keep the opt out.

The EU rules dont fit the reality of the UK fire service. stop meddling with services that work perfectly well.
