Espinda is the Kealoha of corrections. The legislature should not have voted down the audit that was proposed. With competent investigators I’m sure the public will be shocked at what will be uncovered. MCCC was not the only riot. They should look into the “disturbance” that occurred at Kulani in March 2016. If you think MCCC is bad then you should look at all the facilities it’s all a matter time. BTW who really runs PSD? Is it Nolan or Shelley? Nolan has a bunch of women in administrative positions so they can stroke his almighty ego. Renee Sonobe Hong, Jodie Maesaka Hirata, Shari Kimoto Kaauwai, and of course Shelley just to name a few. I pray this petition inspires more people to put these corrupt people on blast!

every other week there’s another escape from a prison. I’ve never seen anything like this and I’ve lived in many different states across the nation. This guys management skills and decision making seems a little inadequate. The government should find another Director. Can’t duppirt this guy. Don’t confirm him

As an employee of PSD for 19+ years I have seen my fair share of Directors come and go. But to date Director Espinda is the worst leader that PSD has ever had. His disregard for policies, the law, CBA provisions, and civil service rules. Director Espinda is a man with no integrity, a bully, and a heartless jerk. He has created a very toxic environment for us at PSD. May the good lord have mercy on PSD, it's employees, the inmates, and the community at large. We at PSD need a Leader with Integrity. Time for new leadership!

Sonobe Hong has experience in law enforcement. She slept with a lot of police officers. She even has a kid with one of them. The kid even looks like him.

As a career deputy, I’ve seen directors and administrations come and go but this was by far the worst 4 years. Cummings was the bottom of the barrel when it came to qualified lieutenants to move up to the Sheriff position. He was picked by SonobeHong because he had the least training and experience and wouldn’t question her. She was picked by Espinda cause she had no law enforcement experience or training and she would be loyal to him. This was the most did functional command ever. I hope they’re sent on their way so the division can repair the damage caused by their ineptitude.

I’ve watched the news coverage of this director not issuing the equipment and weapons that are in the department inventory. This director is playing with peoples lives both the officers and the public. I can’t support someone who plays these games

Isn't this the guy who was using ACO's and inmates to fix his house when he was the warden at OCCC in the 90's? Didn't he accept cases of beer from a former inmate who delivered it to his house? This. guy is dirty

Nolan, why did you submit a request for 300 tasers to the legislature? That’s disingenuous don’t you think? Oh course the budget and finance group will reject a request for 300,000 dollars. Why not just ask for 50 units which would have been several hundred thousand less money. Your submission was a calculated move to receive a rejection so you can now blame the legislature. You should leave and allow someone with good intentions and the skills necessary to step in. Take Renee with you. I oppose your confirmation

Why are you telling the legislature that your pursuing CALEA? Public Safety hasn’t paid a cent towards accreditation nor have you drafted policy. Sonobe Hong doesn’t like that she has to follow this order. You can blame all your problems on your Deputy Director.
