As third year geography students, we have paid for the compulsory field trip, which takes place in second year through our £9,250 tuition fees. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic we weren't able to go, but the university has kept our money.
I completed a student complaint which was not taken further, as I did not raise the concern within 2 months of the field trip 'taking place'. I am therefore hoping that other third year geography students will sign this petition with their name and student number so that we are refunded the cost of the overseas field trip.

I am truly overwhelmed by the momentum we have built together because I honestly did not think this would gain such traction. Seeing everyone come together shows that this is far more than just one person fighting for fairness. This is entirely down to the persistence each of you has shown.

PAY US BACK. Spent thousands on fees only to miss out on the most important part of the degree.
I think it’s extremely unfair to have paid for something that never took place and the university just ignored the fact that this money should therefore be returned to students. I hope that this issue will be resolved in a fair manner.
The uni basically stole this money from us. We paid for a trip that literally never happened and they just kept it.
As a geography student during the pandemic, I think the quality of the course was hugely impacted in a negative way. We lost the ability to take part in key components of the course. Therefore compensation is due
