Hi there! This issue hits very close to home for my family (and I'm sure many families). I do not think schools need to infringe upon my rights to be there for my child. They get enough time with my child each day. If my child is going through something like this I would want to be there with them to help them. People are over stepping their business undated, and are not thinking about the long term. My babies foundation starts at home, and if you are keeping their school life completely separate we may not know how they are dealing with these issues in their own minds. They need our love and nurturing first. Please consider rhe fact that a kindergartner does not know what's best for them. They are not capable of making these kinds of decisions and weighing the outcome of their secrecy. This law makes me very sad, and very disappointed in our current culture. Parents do matter, and children need them. You are eliminating them from a HUGELY important part of their child's life. There will be parents that won't support their children, but there will be many parents that will want to help their child through such a daunting process. That is not up to anyone, but the family. Please let us have the one gift we were given. That is not societies to take as well.

This shouldn't even be an issue when dealing with school age children. If you are born a boy use the boys room and vice versa.

I feel that the MDE should make UNISEX, BOYS ,AND GIRLS restrooms all three separate catagories.... if someone makes a choice to make a change in their life,why should the world acclimate to those individuals. ... those individuals need to figure out how to live in this world without disrupting or disturbing my child .... my child should not be forced to be uncomfortable ... the person making the choice to change just needs to learn to deal with the way things are.

They need to put a stop to this. If it's not medical removed or attached you need to use the appropriate bathrooms. Period!!

Where are the rights of the children who don't choose to be transgender and who is to say that someone won't pretend to be such so they can invade the privacy of our young boys and girls. Ila line must be drawn!!! You are not protecting our children by letting this bill pass..

There will be more in numbers students/parents, who will 'feel' very uncomfortable being forced to share the bathroom with other genders, than there will be on the flip side. You will have a large number of girls asking to use a private restroom, because they'll feel uncomfortable 'sharing'. Seems like this scenario would be glaringly obvious.

Too many bad things could happen. Especially from predators and pedifiles. People are born male or female because of their chromasones, if people choose to be the opposite sex, or want to be the opposite sex, that is their choice, but they still should use the bathroom according to their birth gender, and if they are uncomfortable with that, they can go at home, or if they are in school and are teased or bullied, they should be able to use a staff bathroom, or a bathroom with staff observation, to ensure they are not bullied. Adults who choose to be a different gender, should be willing to suffer the consequences of their choice and use their born, gender bathroom. This isn't about their comfort, they are choosing to be different, they don't need to make others uncomfortable or unsafe because of their choice.

I'm against this how do you know if they're telling the truth about what they think they are also why confuse the children more than they are already if you are a boy at birth go in the boy's room not go in the girls room looking at them or showing them your private part's stop confusing the children more they already are !

We don't want men in the bathroom period. Whatever gender is on your birth certificate is the bathroom they should be using.

I really don't agree with transgenders using opposite restrooms. I've got a 7 yr old and can't imagine a man being in the same restroom with her or me. I think it's wrong in so many ways.

I would not want my daughter using a bathroom where guys can also use the same bathroom unless it was a single bathroom (one toilet and sink). This is one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard!

There is a better way then putting our children at risk of danger from anyone being less than truthful about why they are in the opposite genders bathroom. If no one asks questions of us allowed to ask questions ANYONE can go into any bathroom where they can do whatever they choose. So what about the rights of my little girl who would feel very uncomfortable using the bathroom with a boy in there. The question is not about the fact that said boy may feel like he is in the right place or not it's about now my little girl feels uncomfortable or in danger because there is a boy in the bathroom with her! There is a very simple solution. Make another bathroom that is a unisex bathroom that everyone is free to use.
