I have been spending my nights reading through the heart-wrenching stories you all are sharing about not being able to hug your parents or spouses. It reminds me why I started this fight because your families deserve better than the isolation they are currently enduring. I am currently compiling all these accounts to present directly to those in power.

Reaching this point feels like a massive weight shifting off my chest because it proves I am not the only one fighting to see my mother again. Seeing this momentum grow gives me real hope that we can finally unlock these doors.

the last day I was in to see my mom was march 19th. I went everyday before work and would also go on weekends. This is breaking my heart Since I have not been able to visit my mom I have seen through a glass window the decline in her. Her appearance is not up to my standards, nor hers. We will never these these last 6 months back. these months have been taken from us all.
I work in a nursing home and am beyond distressed and frustrated at watching our poor residents, the are all depressed, isolated, bored. Unfortunately, there is only so much us staff can do. There is no substitute for a loved one, close friend.
I’m losing my mom more every day. Hospital admissions twice in three weeks. She is on palliative care now. In February she got her hair done every week, nails done every few weeks and she went to the senior center every week. Our poor seniors need help!
These nursing home regulations combined with a lack of accountability are causing depression, neglect and death. Enough is enough. Our elderly family members are being treated worse than criminals in prisons, and these facilities are supposed to be their homes not a prison. We need change and we need it now.
Our loved ones are dying from isolation induced dementia. Staff who go home to their families, friends & “outside life” who have no vested interest in our LO’s come & go in their rooms but we can’t even have outdoor visits b:c of staff positives! They are a greater risk than we are! Let us see our family!

if staff can come in and out, so can families with proper PPE.... I am willing to do whatever it takes . thank you all for sharing with us. the more stories that we all hear, the more it thrives us to keep pushing forward. god bless you
