This petition is not meant to further divide the diversity of those in Eagle Lake. It is meant to do the EXACT opposite. Eagle Lake is a vacation community where families go to enjoy their time together, as well as meet new friends. There is already a divide in the nationalities and religions throughout Eagle Lake. We all see that everyday at the pool, beaches, and our children's play areas. Bringing in a Jewish/Russian camp will only make that divide more noticeable and make people more resentful. Regardless, of the camp being available for any race/ethnicity, it is still listed and meant for those of the Russian/Jewish ethnicity. If there is any camps, or groups it should simply be listed as a camp. There are plenty of outside avenues people can take advantage of to practice their faith and beliefs of specifically named groups as such. We do not believe it is necessary to bring those activities into the Eagle Lake Community. We are all for activities that bring EVERYONE together, without it being a specified group for the Russian/Jewish culture. We are not going to support those that tear our community apart.

Not only does it bring diversity to our community, but also puts a high and risky liability on the Eagle Lake Community. The camp may have its own insurance, but forbid something happens to someone within the group, it will immediately put a bad reputation and possible lawsuits against Eagle Lake. Regardless of private insurance provided from the camp. Renting of properties will rise and bring in more than just the commonly known guests cuasing use of the pool, beach, laundry room, etc. inaccessible to us as property owners. The property owners pay their annual dues to be able to use such amenities at their own leisure without needing to wait until a renting party is done, that pays no dues toward the community.

We as property owners, feel completely betrayed and blinded by our own community that many of us consider our second home. Many property owners, as myself, did not know about this until social media. This camp idea or any further group activities, should have been and should be for future reference, addressed to the property owners prior to any renting of facilities or use of facilities that we pay for. We hope you take this into consideration, as board members and understand how unpleasant we as property owners are becoming when we are not addressed about ideas in OUR community that we all share.
