Consumers want MORE from the Saskatoon Farmers' Market

I miss the farmers market. Truly the heart of Saskatoon

Time to evolve. This sounds like the start of a great vision for the future of SFM.

All for the growth of fresh n quality goods, I think as the area grows so will the need, I se so much development there and no real grocery stores in the area.. thus the need for more available times to shop and enjoy!

If more vendors were allowed stalls, more variety would be available and hopefully vendors could fill in the gaps and we could have enough vendors throughout the 6 days (and possibly an evening or two) to satisfy customers, the city and provide enough variety on all market days. However, more public support is a must. We need more customers to do this well. Shop local and our local businesses at the market will feel satisfied with the change in hours

We are not looking for everybody that currently sells at the market to come everyday just several so we can supply the city's basic needs all through the week and keep a buzzing and growing local community supplied and happy.

I agree the space could be put to better use however remember most venders are doing this as a supplement to their income and are not able to sustain a business 6 days a week. Perhaps you need to move to a better location?

I want to keep the farmers market as the important place it is to Saskatoon shoppers who want fresh and local food.

Isn't the farmer's market part of the reason for the area revitalization? I'd love to see it become a larger and more useful venue!

I am definitely in support of local business, organic healthy options, and accessibility for everyone. Lets make sure there are lots of options for everyone.

Let's address the issue of Wednesday and Sunday markets and poor attendance by some vendors. Discussing 6-day markets is extremely premature at this stage. It's one thing to invite vendors to attend six days a week optionally, but your petition calls for "12-24 vendors", including meat and produce, present all week. This is the very antithesis of a farmers' market. Growing produce and meat is enormous work. If we spend our time at the market, who is going to grow it? Who is going to harvest it? Who is going to weed and inspect the crop for bugs? I ask that you please rethink the way this petition is worded because it displays a poor understanding of farming.

The efforts must be made by all concerned to keep the Market growing . Think out of BOX to make it happen. My belief " Difficult we do at once ; impossible may take some time"

I am a vender and a producer of many products that myself and my company Intuitive Path Superfoods creates right here in Saskatoon and I had a big hand in creating this petition and I am certainly proud to say it. Where not saying we need everybody all the time to set up at the market. Just the right people with the right attitude that want to see this Market grow with the area around it. Times have changed we need to change as will and this is a great idea. Give it a chance and lets see what happens.
