The parents of Bridlington School children should have the right to buy school trousers or skirts without logos from whichever retailer they see fit.

Baggy trousers are supposed to look smarter but they don't. They look worse, it feels like you have kites on your legs when walking. I feel more self conscious in baggy trousers then I do in skinny trousers. We go to school to learn and get good grades, how can we get good grades when we just get dragged to the uniform room every five minutes for something stupid. Trousers do not effect our education. It's stupid. Why do the sixth formers get to wear what they want, yet we don't get to choose what type of trousers we wear. Also, half the teachers have skirts above their knee, and tight clothes, why don't they get a uniform. If we do they should. Or at least some sort of policy. Why should everyone be punished for some people having skin tight trousers and short skirts! Next yer the year 9's will have had 3 school uniform changes. That is unfair on their parents, they are the ones having to actually pay for these. It's outrageous!

Why not set a skirt length requirement and all those who are shorter send them home to change? It makes NO sense whatsoever punishing the whole school for a minority.

My daughter was pulled up as an example for "prefect" uniform. So why should I change trousers.

do not stop girls from wearing skirts, women in this country have equal rights and girls in school shoud have the choice to wear skirts or not

If the kids have to wear designated uniform what about the staff? Armani suits all round? Uniform does not affect learning. Show some common sense!!!

when is common sense going to rule. Most of the children already abide by the regulations. Sort out the ones who do not. What would the school do if all the pupils failed to turn up in correct uniform? send them home? I don't think so.

Children grow so fast.They come home with split trousers.I will not be paying all that out every couple of months just because of some head teacher on a power trip. How do they have a right to dictate were we buy our kids trousers from. They already have the school logo on there jumpers and Polo shirts.It's expensive enough buying uniforms as it is from the only shop in brid that sells them.As long as they look smart when going to school, surely that's all that matters.

Another case of the few causing issues for the many. I'm seriously pissed off about this as we have stuck to policy, changing Ems trousers twice when she started to grow so they weren't too tight, making sure her skirts are the correct length etc. The kids who don't follow policy should be sent home, every time. That way their parents might learn to supply the correct uniform! The fact we can only buy these bloody trousers from 1 shop is ridiculous as they can then set the prices how they want & we have to pay it!! Oh & the girl who commented the teacher shouldn't be looking at her legs when told about the length of her skirt should get a slap! It's girls like her that cause issues like this!! If she was my daughter she would be in trouble!!

Don't punish the whole school because of a few rule breakers. Name and shame. If that doesn't work suspend the kids. They will soon be begging their parents to do the right thing

Get the school to name 3-4 retailers that sell trousers that compiles with policy and only those named can be worn. This will then do away with the silly logo on them and reduce cost. The Dept of Education School Uniform Guidelines 2013 highly recommends that the cheapest and most available types should be sourced. It also states that the views of the parents/carers are taken into account. This should be highlighted at the school meeting next week.

Ridiculous, expensive rule. All about public image and nothing to do with supporting our children's learning. My eldest daughter who is going into year 11 this September won't even get a full academic year out of £40.00 worth of trousers. I don't spend £20.00 on a pair of trousers for work let alone on trousers for one academic year. We can't afford that sort of money and we both work full-time to support our children.

a complete waste of money! another stupid rule at the expense of us parents! i work full time to provide for my children so i wont be able to come to the school uniform meeting. if the school are so bothered about the school trousers they should pay for them.
stop trying to make the school 'outstanding' by charging the parents! im suprised the school got 'good' on their report neither mind 'oustanding'!

After receiving a letter this morning from Bridlington school this morning inviting us to a meeting about the new uniform policy I urge parents of Bridlington school students to stand together and fight this ridiculous change . This should of been done well before the original letters were sent to parents / carers . If you disagree with the changes now is your chance to have your say , Try and attend the meeting . Do not be dictated to any longer .
