I'm not too surprises with this. This school only cares about its image as an alumni I can say they only care about what is good for them. In the whole college process it was all about applying to schools that would give money so their reputation would be better. Applying to a school that was out of reach was frowned about because God forbid you don't get more money they can add to their list

This school and it's teachers should be ashamed. YOUR SOLE JOB IS TO TEACH. YOU FAILED TO DO YOUR JOB! As a parent of four children in Catholic schools, we pay a HUGE fee to give our children the best. In that contract and exchange of money, you have a responsibility to go above and beyond. Obviously, that did NOT happen here. SHAME ON YOU!

As a SJHA alumni who also struggled, I am baffled. The purpose of school is to HELP us not punish us for misunderstanding or having a hard time. This is a terrible thing to do.

This is so horrible, as a graduate of STJH I'm so embarrassed of my alma mater. I hope they fix this, or their "good" reputation that they are always trying to uphold might be tainted.

"All hail, Saint Joseph hill" Yeah okay. I don't entirely know what happened here, but I can share my own experiences in SJHA that don't give me any doubts that this happened. Through my 4 years at Hill, I learned that this school is not all it's cracked out to be. On top of the very expensive tuition my parents were paying, I needed to get an outside tutor for 2 straight years so I could get through 2 classes and 2 regents that weren't making one contribution towards my future because the teachers I had did not know the difference between day and night. I failed 2 classes in 1 quarter and got no warning, when I say warning it means that the teachers did not post any grades on edline (THE SELLING POINT OF THE SCHOOL). So how was I supposed to know I was failing?!?! When I brought that up to administration they brushed it off and said it wasn't their problem and as punishment I was suspended from any extracurricular activities I took part in. Another incident: senior year I did not do well in a class and had no idea how I was doing. I approached the teacher and asked how to fix the problem and he said he couldn't do anything about it. I made it out, got my diploma, and don't thank that school for ANYTHING. Bottom line is, SJHA caters to the kids who have good grades and screw everybody else.
P.S. I also was told by a certain advisor that I could never succeed in getting the degree that I wanted. Sorry to disappoint them; I'm set to graduate WITH that exact degree in May and having the dream career I've wanted.

Not at ALL surprised to hear that Hill could care less and ruin this girl's life right as she is about to graduate. It's probably in the student's best interest to get as far away from this school possible. They care more about how many detentions they can give out in a day than they do about education. I would much rather put off college for a year than stay another minute at SJHA. So glad I left that hell hole.

What an out rage, reinstate her immediately. I attended Catholic school in NYC intill the 8th grade, & was helped with math class, when having trouble. Maybe the school should give the parent a reimbursement of tuition of almost 4 yrs.
