The Nature of Expulsion

and I'm sorry you had to go through all that, after your parents paid thousands of dollars for you to go to this horrible school

wow thats about all I can say,

This is not a surprise at all. I spent the majority of my life at SJHA. I have had incredible memories made here, where I have made my best, lifelong friends. However, not all my years were pleasant. My senior year was the most stressful, infuriating years of my life. I did not get along with a certain faculty member, who was on a power trip every waking moment of her life, and because of that, she sought to make my year a living hell. She got me kicked off my senior trip, having already paid it off in full because I smirked during one of her righteous speeches during OUR LUNCH PERIOD. I am not surprised to see this young girl getting the boot from SJHA, because I'm sure this woman had something to do with it. I was struggling immensely in an AP bio class I requested not to take my senior year. And because of that I had a meeting with all superior faculty members, with my mom as well. Safe to say the both of us were blindsided because we had no clue this was even going to happen. They sat there and disrespected me in front of my mother, all because of one class I wasn't going well in. And this isn't to say I wasn't trying. Because I was. Some people don't click in certain classes and im sure that's what happened here. With that said, I got my spot back on my senior trip and I graduated with an overall 93% out of 100. So, as you can see. One minuscule class out of the 30+ we take in high school doesn't have that much weight on your overall success. This girl is missing the best months of her life because of this awful, disgusting show of power. P.S. You're worried about your non 100% graduation stat, but your reputation is being absolutely tarnished now. See how things work out.

I am not surprised nor bewildered. There are certain members of the "faculty " who have a godlike attitude.always trying to take credit for these young women accolades,but very non compliant when a student is struggling .So I am very confident that this young lady's statement is nothing but the truth.

I agree with both you women, Nicole I really do not agree with you, and the ppl here are trying to help Alexis not bash her and try and blame this on her parents, if your on the schools side and think they did the right thing, then have some respect for Alexis and don't comment, she's going through enough she don't need to read this, I wonder if you'd feel the same way if it were your daughter, I'm going to think NOT...

THIS IS A DISGRACE.. how obvious is it that the school cares more about the money then the students, I hope they live to regret this poor choice

Nicole this isn't the first time I've heard of this school not helping a student bc yes they are more worried about keeping up their STATISTICS.. bottom line here is if I paid the tuition families have to I would expect someone in that school to help her, you want to blame the parents?? ur wrong, it's up to the school to HELP HER right after they cash her parents check every month.. I'm glad my daughter heard these kind of things about this stuck up school and choose Villa.. any problems she had with ANY class she was helped with immediately, so don't jump to conclusions unless you work there and know the whole story.. Alexis told her story and there is no reason why she'd have to lie, she was there for 3 yrs very active in a lot and this is the thanks she gets?? I don't think so, now this school will be bashed and they deserve it bc they just proved that the mighty ole $$$$$$$ means more to them then the students... end of story

well she only failed one class, wasn't given help, and was NOT given fair warning at all. not really much more to the story than that

maybe if you read the comments you would see the whole story, but here's what alexis said in the previous comments Alexis Broseaux: Guess what, you are being told everything. Here's the story, I actually wasn't "expelled" I was transferred. The faculty of SJHA didn't want me to mess up their 100% Graduation stat so they gave me the boot before I could; forcing me to transfer. If you look at my record I don't have any expulsions or suspensions, nothing. Yeah, I have a couple of detentions for things like forgetting sweater, forgetting my absentee card, wearing a bracelet, and the kicker, my mom forgetting to call me in (which I had to serve detention for) but never ever have I done anything that merits me being thrown out before I could graduate from the place I spent over 3 years in. Anyone that knows me knows how much I love that place. The amount of time I spent their helping out, doing things I didn't have too but chose too because that school was my home away from home. The amount of Friday nights I gave up to volunteer at school events. The way I treated my teachers with the utmost respect each and every day. How I was friends with almost every body, how I had friends in all different areas of the school from the soccer team to the math club to the drama club, I knew everyone and I loved them all. This school took something away from that I'll never get back. They took away my home. 60 days before I graduate and they took it away from me because I was failing ONE class. I wasn't even given the chance to pass or fail. They saw that I MIGHT not be able to make the grade and that was it. They got rid of what could've been a failure on their record by forcing me to transfer. However, even though I transferred I'm still not enrolled anywhere because what Catholic high school wants to take a senior, the answer is none. So now after spending 3 years at Hill I will finish out my senior year in a public school, where I know no one. I won't have

they should be ashamed of themselves, this should make alot of ppl change their minds about sending their child there, this mother needs to call all the papers and tell them exactly what they did after paying I'm sure a hefty tuition for 4 yrs.. Shame on you

I feel for this girl. However...if you do not pass your classes, how can you expect to receive a diploma from the school? The girl was given fair warning to get her grades up. She did not, and now come the consequences. Perhaps this school was not the correct fit for the student from the beginning...it is NOT for everyone. Were her parents aware of her struggles? As the parent of 2 children who attended SJHA, I speak from experience. Extra help was always available for those who seek it. The SJHA High School diploma would lose it's "value" if it is just "given" to the student because no one wants her self esteem to be lowered. If allowed to graduate with her class, she would learn what?? Some sort of weird sense of entitlement because her well meaning parents PAID the tuition...she should graduate although not meeting the basic MINIMAL requirements to do so?? I am sure the administration did NOT come to their decision lightly. I highly doubt they would throw a young woman under the bus to keep up statistics. There is more to this story.

This event is something to consider as my daughter has her sights set on attending high school here in the Fall.

This is my alma mater and I have never been more disappointed.
