Seems quite unbelievable that a school would not want to help this young lady. Perhaps the parents should ask SJHA for a FULL REFUND of the tens of thousands spent.
Parents should also expose the school for what it is - insensitive and rigid. Time to give SJHA some of the bad press that has only been bestowed on Moore C in recent years.

I am confused. ALL the faculty members disrespected you at a meeting with your mother? That sounds like somewhat of an embellishment. You said you "smirked" during a faculty members speech to the students...THAT sounds disrespectful to me! As they say...if 3 people see the same accident...there will be 3 different versions of the same accident. It's all about perspective. (and maturity).

This petition seems like a sounding board for disgruntled students. All schools have students who excel and students who don't. True, the students who excel would probably do so in any school setting. The students who don't fare as well might not fare well anywhere OR maybe they would do better in a different school. There seems to be a lot of whining and blaming of others in the student's re-cap of their horrible experiences at Hill.

I attended this school since the 5th grade, and I can honestly say I've had 8 "worst years of my life." This school's reputation was the only thing they were concerned about, not their students well-being. They act like they are willing to work with you to help you, but in reality they are just money-hungry and fame seeking individuals. Everything they cared about pertained to being the best and breaking records academically and athletically. I don't have Hill pride, I never did. This school doesn't deserve the good publicity.

Disgusted with this school. I went there for one year and made sure I ran out of there real quick. It wasn't worth a cent of my parent's money. All that this school focuses on is its image, money, power, and glory. Everything is about how Hill is such a "great school" with a "great faculty," meanwhile I had to get outside tutors for classes I was struggling in, thats MORE money my parents had to dish out. This should get more attention and finally unfold all the dishonest acts that occur in this school on a day to day basis.

The obsession with having all students get into college so the school ratings do not go down is what has led to this unfortunate incident.
For a student with no disciplinary actions to be advised to leave because they had the "potential" not to pass her math class is very troubling on many fronts.
Is this really the "Catholic or Christian" values that lead us us to keep our children enrolled in parochial school?
I am not in favor of schools pushing students through their classes but have a hard time believing that there was no way to tutor her through this class. An average of 84 over the final 2 periods would have accomplished that.
Have the implications of the schools actions on the her mental and emotional well being really been thought out. After investing 3 1/2 years nurturing relationships during complex formative years only to be told that you were not good enough can be devastating to anyone's psyche, not to mention for a teenager about to graduate high school.
It is too late for Alexjs to get justice from this school but hopefully future students will not face the same injustice. I have no doubt that Alexis will not only succeed but will thrive in any endeavor she chooses.

Both my daughters attended the grammar school one went on to a different HS it was the best decision of her life. I was disappointed about it at first but later on realized she made the right decision. The HS principal is a very bad person. I'm not going to go into detail but she is!! She is not a Christian, I along with my husband witnessed it with our own eyes.

This is a terriable disgrace and the school should have done anything they could to help this young woman pass the class. The consequences seem severe for failing one class and it's not even the end of the school year. So there should be plenty of time to get help. .(help is something Many Catholic schools do not offer for struggling kids) It seems like they are only interested in keeping up school image and do not really care about the student. They succeeded in ruining this young lady's last year of high school. I hope it only makes her stronger and they she uses it to educate People on what this school seems to be about
