They actually listened and lot J is officially switching over to resident parking starting now which feels kind of surreal after all the frustration of trying to get to class on time. I am honestly just so relieved that we do not have to stress about those nineteen spots anymore …

The goal of this petition is to get the parking lot J at ITC changed to Resident Parking and to alert Binghamton's staff about the trouble that parking causes for students.
The parking at Binghamton University has steadily gotten worse. More students are accepted each year while parking has not changed. Residents are especially affected by this because commuters can park in resident lots but not vice versa. More and more lots resident lots have been reassigned to commuter residents struggling to park and often forced to walk long distances. ITC also has extremely limited parking for residents, 19 spots to be specific. This makes it difficult to get to class if the bus is late or drives past a stop. We pay $140.55 to park our car at Binghamton which is the SAME as commuters but we have extremely restricted parking.

I really thought this might just float around in the void but seeing it pick up this much traction is honestly kind of surreal. It just proves that we are all tired of circling for a spot for half an hour only to end up walking across campus in the freezing cold anyway.

Parking issues are on the list of reasons I will be transferring at the end of the semester. Something needs to be done or they're going to lose more students like myself.
I have dealt with this for the last 4 years and have struggled to even park my car for the evening, leaving me to sit in my car and wait for someone to hopeully leAve by chance. I rarely obtain a spot close to where I live and I think it is ludicrous that commuters can park in residential lots but not vice versa for day parking.
Dickinson and CIW residents have to share one of the smallest residential lots on campus not only with each other but also with commuters as well. Not sure why our only Dickinson lot (which wasn't that large to begin with) in front of the alumni center was converted to commuter without offering any more residential parking to compensate.
Lot T was Dickinson's only resident lot and it was turned commuter. The largest community on campus does not have nearly enough parking and we need more desperately.
It really frustrates me how paying the premium to live on campus with a parking pass does not even alleiviate my dependance on the campus shuttle because there is no place to park on main campus and especially the ITC.
Parking is rediculous
Parking on campus is horrendous. Something must change.

I hate parking here, as a freshman with a job I was given special permission to use a parking pass, but I am required to park in ZZ, a 20 minute walk from my dorm, when there are spots available in other locations. Parking here needs a new perspective that is equal to residents
