We are writing to inform you of how pleased we are with Dr. Lisa Grillo’s dynamic leadership of Elizabeth Seton High School over the last 2 years. The Elizabeth Seton community has been transformed under her guidance and direction, and Dr. Grillo continues to accomplish the school’s mission of cultivating confidence in young women to excel in college, careers, and life through an innovative and rigorous academic experience. Dr. Grillo has created an ambitious yet attainable strategic plan, which includes the reimaging of our hallmark pre-career programs, such as a hospitality and tourism program and a women’s entrepreneurship program. The strategic plan will also update the Seton curriculum to include more dynamic coursework related to social justice, environmental justice, and diversity related topics which the students have expressed great interest. The plan continues to focus on emphasizing student athletes, by offering leadership development to create teams that will empower and lead Elizabeth Seton to WCAC Championship titles. These new programs have empowered young Seton women to learn, and ultimately to lead and serve others, which are key tenets of the school’s vision. Dr. Grillo also continues to foster the value of unity by appreciating diversity and promoting inclusivity.
In addition, the number of faculty and staff of color has increased over 100%. This achievement aligns with the strategic plan to create a more diverse and inclusive staff which will model the Elizabeth Seton student body. Dr. Grillo’s involvement and reconnection with the Seton alum community has been outstanding. The alumni community has been revitalized and excited over the advances Dr. Grillo has made.
The Seton community went through a significant change Mid-year 2020 in the middle of the National crisis and Pandemic. We know that change and transition can sometimes be difficult, and not everyone may feel a need for change. However, we also know that the focus will always and should be to ensure our students are able to express themselves freely, develop skills, increase self-confidence, and broaden their interests. Dr. Grillo has demonstrated her ability and commitment to manage change well and provide support to all individuals for them to succeed with the change. This has been very impactful for the Elizabeth Seton Community.
Dr. Grillo has exemplified all 6 Values of the Seton community daily. She has a strong passion for Academic excellence, strong moral principles, a person of integrity, extremely innovative and creative, appreciates inclusiveness and unity, leading and serving with respect to all.
We are truly proud to say Elizabeth Seton continues to thrive under Dr. Grillo’s Leadership.

Dr. Grillo is definitely accomplishishing and excelling in her role. We need change for our students to be more progressive and to be prepared for the future. Dr. Grillo also serves as a role model for all students and helps students feel less marginalized.
Dr. Grillo is a phenomenal leader for Elizabeth Seton. I’m a DeMatha graduate, class of ‘86 and abandoning her stewardship would be a big mistake.
Thank you Dr. Grillo for understanding the importance of Progressive Education without the unfair ceilings.

I am very proud of Dr. Grillo and her team! I am alum of ADW Catholic HS, Immaculata ‘86, my daughter Alumni of Carroll ‘07 , and my cousin is THE Cotelia Bond Young Alumni of Seton ‘02. It has been awesome to hear the great things my good friend Dr. Grillo is doing strengthening the Seton Community and bringing it back to the amazing force it was known to be to us all!! I could not agree more with the positive sentiments expressed in this petition around Dr. Grillo's servant leadership. I'm a graduate of the class of 1992 and I've entrusted Seton with my daughter Cleo (rising senior class of 2024). Under Dr. Grillo's care and direction my daughter and her classmates know they have a voice and a safe space to express themselves and grow as young women and good human beings while tackling the academic rigore. So proud to be a part of this community as both alumni and a parent to help support the strategic direction and vision Dr. Grillo and her team has put forth.
