The parking situation at the Terrell Mill Tennis Center is out of control. The tennis center was built in 1979 and at the time the neighborhood behind it requested that Cobb County not build a parking lot for the tennis center. At the time there wasn\'t much dividing the houses and the tennis center, but as of now there are fully grown trees and fences that keep the two separate. This old agreement should be terminated as it does not reflect the will of the majority of residents in Cobb County. It only benefits a few homeowners that have driveways closer than the nearest parking lot. The park is a public space and should be an enjoyable and safe place. With the growth of the community, Terrell Mill Park has become a popular place for soccer, softball, and tennis teams. Not to mention the frequent use of the park for group gatherings. On most days of the week and the weekend the parking lot near the soccer fields and picnic area is overloaded with cars and causes a major parking problem. Visitors to the park struggle to find a spot to park, and are having to park at the other end of the park. While this wouldn\'t be that big of a deal if you were just walking the trek, adding a cooler, tents, chairs, and tennis gear make this very difficult. At night time and during the winter months the walk from the tennis center to the closest parking lot is not safe. There is no lighting and rough terrain could cause serious injury not to mention the possibility someone being assaulted or worse. We ask that Cobb County build a parking lot within 100 yards of the tennis center. This lot should be able to accommodate enough parking for all of the players and spectators of the tennis center. It should have adequate lighting to provide a safe walk to and from the tennis center during dark hours.

The feedback from people struggling to haul gear across that dark field proves this has dragged on long enough. I am currently sifting through the bureaucratic responses from the county but the silence on their end is getting deafening. It is exhausting to keep pushing when no one wants to listen but I will not let this drop.

Its a total mess out there on weekends. I have to drive around for 15 minutes before I find anything. Just build the lot already.

Cobb County needs to fix this. Families with kids and all their gear shouldnt have to hike a mile just to play a match!
