We believe that IVC underfunds the band and choir programs. According to the band treasurer, Eric Morr, the school only covers 80% of staff salaries, half of new uniforms, and most of the transportation costs. However, this only scratches the surface of the band's financial needs. There are expenses for instruments, props, stands, and sheet music that the Band Boosters must fund on their own. Similarly, the Choir Boosters raises many for most of their expenses because the school only gives them $300 to work with. $300 is not enough for sheet music, microphones, concert attire, and other things. By signing this petition, you are encouraging the IVC School Board to recognize the needs of the choir and band department.
