The Frederick County Council has postponed their vote till next month on whether or not to grant the Scientology arm, Narconon, a special historic designation at Trout Run. Without the historical designation the current zoning code would never allow for the renovation and facility they intend. This is a clear attempt to skirt proper zoning.

The Frederick County Council is an elected-policy making body. They have the right and responsibility to consider all aspects, and all consequences of their decision.

Please join us in telling them to vote to protect Frederick, and vote against this motion.

I am certain it is tempting to succumb to the lure of money and ongoing revenues that they have touted that will occur. They won't come as it is a closed society, Frederick county residents will not benefit and it will simply develop more of a drug supply route to the northern portion of the county.

This location has no viable cause for historic designation. Scientology’s Social Betterment Properties International is only using this angle to be able to open their Narconon con shop..

Please do not let this organization use this property as a supposed drug rehabilitation facility. If you do any research, you will find this group has a very poor success rate and in some cases can do more harm to the participants. It would be better to go with a reputable drug rehabilitation company with a vetted track record.

One of the councilmen told me that the bottom line is that the council must only vote on whether the property is historic or not and sady, I must agree based upon reading the laws and regulations on it. I am told that it's leaning toward NOT being historic. So please email the members srtating that they should not listen to lore and legend. Only facts about the property. And Vote NO!

A family member had experience with Narconon; staff lied to family members before & during their time there. Staff were not trained counselors but "graduates" of the program. A true cult-like environment.

A hruu hiker from clearwater, FL posted on face book, "Appalachian trail Class of 2015" that in 1970 Scientology owned one building in downtown Clearwater. today they own the entir edowntown. The climate has changed forever.
