It’s already hard enough for local businesses to survive in the current state of downtown Columbia. Our friends and family own these businesses, work there, or hang out there as a place to relax and catch up or finally get to party. The city can’t fix our rising housing prices problem, our failing infrastructure — nothing ACTUALLY important, but they’re happy to restrict us and drive local businesses and people out of downtown.

More policies regulating drinking will decrease the overall happiness in a college town as special as Columbia Missouri. There is a reason why college admissions were at it's all time high in 2010-2014. That also happened to be right before the cities regulations regulating drinking.

The city has already crippled the downtown district economy and adding more restrictions won't solve the real problem. These kids and a TON of adults pre-game for hours before they head to their favorite spot. Leave the bar and restaurant owners alone!

I do pray that we not heading backwards again with this control. What is happening to our individual rights and those of small businesses. Don't kill the establishments that provide a social scene in Columbia. It is good for the economy and those who reside in Columbia. And it is the right of the people.. Lets not go back to prohibition times........controlling the populace again. That is our past. Judy B.

Stop the nanny state. Stop "protecting" us because you implicitly think we're too stupid to do it ourselves.

I feel this measure should be stopped as a small business owner on 9th Street.
